Notes for Arie Koornwinder
Arie followed his father in the construction business first in Alphen and after 1859 in Bodegraven. At some point he also opened a “kruidenierswarenwinkel” (herb shop) along the Molenbrug in Bodegraven.  In the fall of 1857 he married Aafje van der Mik in Lekkerkerk, her hometown, and  later that same year they would have the first of their 10 children.  Unfortunately, this first child, David, dies at a young age but they will have another child named David just a few years later as was the convention in those days.

Again there is not much known about Arie, he did not particularly distinguish himself and the historical records for him are thin.
